About Hadeland Glassverk

Hadeland Glassverk is one of Norway’s most historic design and manufacturing companies, in continuous operation since 1762. Over generations, we have developed and refined glass as a material, creating everything from functional products to design objects with high aesthetic value.

Hadeland Lighting represents the meeting point of craftsmanship, technology and contemporary design. Our lamps are developed in the glassworks at Hadeland, where experienced glassblowers work closely with designers and product developers. Here, the possibilities of glass are explored through form, colour, texture and its interaction with light. A large part of the lamp production also takes place at Hadeland, with craftsmanship and material understanding remaining central to each product’s identity.

Building on a strong design heritage, Hadeland Lighting also looks to the future. Our ambition is to develop relevant and commercially viable lighting with a distinct identity, where glass continues to play the leading role.

About Morten & Jonas

Morten & Jonas is a Norwegian design duo consisting of Morten Skjærpe Knarrum and Jonas Norheim. They met while studying furniture design and interior architecture at Bergen Academy of Art and Design, where both completed their master’s degrees in design in 2011. That same year, they established their own studio. Today, they are based in their studio in Heggedal, just outside Oslo.

Morten has a background in graphic design, while Jonas is a trained cabinetmaker. Their work is characterised by curiosity, imagination and a desire to challenge established conventions in design. Through their studio, they have developed products for Norwegian and international manufacturers such as Northern, Vestre, Mitab, Bolia and Petite Friture.

In response to Hadeland’s design brief, Morten & Jonas focused on glass’s ability to transform and transmit light, with materiality and technique as key elements. In their proposals, glass takes centre stage.
