DS Awards Best Talents

Letter chair proto V2 19

Designers' Saturday Oslo invites design students and designers in the establishment phase to compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in the design competition Designers' Saturday Awards Best Talents 2023. The idea behind the establishment of Designers' Saturday Academy DSA is to gather future-oriented projects, new developments in the industry and important, current debates under one roof. The program takes place in collaboration with the 6 most important Norwegian design education programs. The Designers Saturday Awards consist of the categories Best Talents and Best interior. The publication of the competition results and award presentations takes place during the official opening of DS 2023 in Oslo, on Friday 8th of September 2023. The best projects in both awards are shown in exhibitions in the same place.

Designers' Saturday has entered into a collaboration with the Swiss watch manufacturer Rado, known for its innovative design and use of revolutionary materials. Rado is a sponsor of Best Talents exhibition, where the ten best entries are displayed during Designers' Saturday. Based on the projects in the exhibition, Rado also organizes the "People's Choice Award 2023", where the designer of the best product/project wins a watch.

THIS YEAR'S THEME TBD

GOAL

The Designers' Saturday Awards Best Talents are intended to be an encouragement and appreciation to young performers, as well as inspiration for further investment in furniture and other product design within interior design. We want to stimulate commitment and believe in a high turnout with a dedicated theme.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

All design students and designers graduated in the last five years from Norwegian design courses and Norwegian students at corresponding colleges/universities abroad are welcome to participate. You can participate with one or more products, which naturally fall within our areas of expertise and are no older than two years.

WHAT IS DESIGNERS ́ SATURDAY ACADEMY?

The Designers' Saturday Academy was established in 2019 and takes place in collaboration with the six most important Norwegian design education programs with support from the Culture Council. In 2021, the activities took place in the National Museum. The idea is to gather forward-looking projects, new developments in the industry and the current debates under one roof. The Designers' Saturday Awards consist of the Best Talents and Best Interior categories. The projects are assessed and judged by an independent jury, and the announcement of the competition results and awarding takes place during the official opening of Designers' Saturday in Oslo.
