Designers' Saturday Oslo invites design students and designers in the establishment phase to compete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in the design competition Designers' Saturday Awards Best Talents 2023. The idea behind the establishment of Designers' Saturday Academy DSA is to gather future-oriented projects, new developments in the industry and important, current debates under one roof. The program takes place in collaboration with the 6 most important Norwegian design education programs. The Designers Saturday Awards consist of the categories Best Talents and Best interior. The publication of the competition results and award presentations takes place during the official opening of DS 2023 in Oslo, on Friday 8th of September 2023. The best projects in both awards are shown in exhibitions in the same place.

Designers' Saturday has entered into a collaboration with the Swiss watch manufacturer Rado, known for its innovative design and use of revolutionary materials. Rado is a sponsor of Best Talents exhibition, where the ten best entries are displayed during Designers' Saturday. Based on the projects in the exhibition, Rado also organizes the "People's Choice Award 2023", where the designer of the best product/project wins a watch.

THIS YEAR'S THEME COLLABORATE

By bringing together the Norwegian design and interior industry, Designers' Saturday serves as an important facilitator for new collaborations. Collaborations across disciplines result in higher quality products and services that endure and better meet consumer needs. In the context of the times we live in, a world filled with unrest and rigid divisions, it is especially important to demonstrate the value of community in every way possible. The contributions to the competition shall reflect the theme of the year.

GOAL

The Designers' Saturday Awards Best Talents are intended to be an encouragement and appreciation to young performers, as well as inspiration for further investment in furniture and other product design within interior design. We want to stimulate commitment and believe in a high turnout with a dedicated theme.
