About Eskoleia 

Eskoleia is a Norwegian manufacturer of steel furniture, with our own factory in Kongsvinger. We have more than 60 years of experience in lockers and storage solutions, and have built much of our knowledge around steel, manufacturing and products made to last. In recent years, design has become a bigger part of our product development. We want to use our experience and knowledge of steel and industrial manufacturing to develop new products, working with designers who challenge both us and the material. 

For us, good design is also about how a product is made – and how long it can stay inuse. We continue to develop with quality, repair, reuse and circularity in mind, makingfurniture that is designed to work well over time. 

About Tommaso Caldera

Born in 1986, he graduated in Industrial Design from the Design Department of the Polytechnic University of Milan. Between 2008 and 2012, he worked as a Junior and Senior Designer at Odo Fioravanti Design Studio, before moving to New York to work at Jonathan Olivares Design Studio.

In 2012, he started his own practice, working with Italian companies. That same year, his first products as an independent designer were exhibited at Salone del Mobile.

In September 2013, he was selected by the Italian Cultural Institute in New York as a Top Young Industrial Designer.

Since 2016, he has complemented his design practice with teaching and writing for Italian and international magazines and blogs.

Today, his practice focuses on various fields of industrial design, from products and furniture to tableware and textiles. He works as a Product Consultant and Art Director, also helping companies develop the strategic aspects of their design processes.
