Information for exhibitors
Designers' Saturday is the largest and most important meeting place for design and interior architecture in Norway. We offer inspiration and professional development for 6000 visitors and 170 exhibitors.
Designers' Saturday focuses on showing the breadth of design and interior design, from young newly qualified designers to well-established manufacturers and brands.
As an exhibitor at Designers' Saturday, you get the opportunity to take part in a 3-day celebration in the center of Oslo, full of inspiration, professional updates, collegial and social meeting places.
- Fill in the application form and participate as an exhibitor at Designers' Saturday 08-10. September 2023 (the next application period opens in autumn 2022).
- The registration is binding, the invoice is sent automatically after approval and is due from mid-May.
- Entries received by 16th of April receive the lowest participation fee.
- The board approves exhibitors who satisfy DS's intention and criteria. After mid-April, all will be confirmed consecutively.
Exhibitors at DS are individual brands and manufacturers. An umbrella organization cannot pay one participation fee and represent several brands.
The main rule is 3 paying exhibitors per showroom and a minimum of 5 per stopping place. The board approves the showrooms and stops when the bus route has been determined after the first application deadline of 31st of March. For better visitor numbers and results, we recommend more exhibitors than the minimum requirement.
One brand can choose to be alone in its showroom against paying 3 participation fees.
Non-paying brands in the premises must be cleared away as best as possible.
Each showroom recruits and pays its own doormen who register the visitors (DS app) on Friday and Saturday.
Exception: If the size of the area and the number of exhibitors are problematic in terms of infection control, apply for an exception to the rule.
CO-OP is part of the program we run in collaboration with Norwegian design education programs and is supported by the Cultural Council. The goal is to create "showstoppers"; exhibitions or installations that stand out with high creativity and unique design. The talented students' fee is NOK 10,000 + VAT per exhibitor, in addition we recommend setting aside a budget for materials and construction of the installation.
NOK 33,000 + VAT.
After 16th of April the participation fee rises to NOK 37,000 + VAT

DS is organized as an association based on non-profit activities. The exhibitors are our members, their representatives together with volunteer design enthusiasts provide unpaid planning and implementation of the event, together with a hired project manager.
The board ensures: Production of showroom and bus stop maps, planning of bus routes and transport as well as marking of all DS bus stops. Recruitment, training and fees for guides who register and guide visitors at each bus stop. Purchase of materials.
Purchase, storage, delivery and return of DS material such as facade banners for each showroom, tote bags and access signs.
Planning and execution of joint activities: Designers Saturday Academy with Awards, Talks, opening and prize ceremony, Auction, Saturday Night Party etc.
Joint marketing, information and PR, sending joint invitations; trade visitors, the press, the public and other relevant visitors.
Exhibitors must focus on product innovations, outstanding design and high quality.
We encourage each individual exhibitor to create creative product presentations to inspire a professional audience.
DS encourages all exhibitors/showrooms to invite their contacts to the event.
Take the new academic day on Friday seriously, make a programme, invite relevant people, do not serve alcohol before 3pm at the earliest
All exhibitors shall upload images, logo and text to own exhibitor profile immediately after approval.
The exhibitor is responsible for looking after the environment, obtaining permits and not show consideration for neighbours.
Information about brands, quality and design must be provided at the request of the board during the processing of exhibitor applications.
Be prepared that infection control is still important; overview of the number of people, distance, hygiene, hand sanitiser and masks. Exhibitors together with the organizer must find good solutions.
Plan for short visits and precise messages.
Rules and recommendations from Oslo Municipality and national authorities must be complied with at all points.
Stay tuned for information, together we will find good solutions.
It is the exhibitor's own responsibility to find a suitable exhibitor space.
In the application form, you will find an overview of showroom DS operates, where you can apply for space.
You are also welcome to make inquiries directly to other showrooms and inform us as soon as possible about the chosen showroom.
At each event, new showrooms are added, while others are left over. Applications for approval of new showrooms and stops, with information on addresses, the number of exhibitors and which ones, are addressed to the board.
The board considers, among other things, proximity to a bus stop and connection to the bus route in consultation with the carrier. The aim is to maintain or reduce the number of stops rather than increase.
We prioritize an efficient route to reduce the public's time consumption outside the showrooms.
We will return with information about the party for DS 2023.
All exhibitors pay the same participation fee of NOK 33,000 ex VAT.
After 16th of April, the participation fee will increase to 37,000 ex VAT. The registration is binding, the invoice is sent automatically after approval and is due from mid-May.
Exhibitors are responsible for all costs incurred in their own showroom during DS; i.e. shipping, insurance, food/drinks etc. These costs are in addition to the DS participation fee.
