Francesca Giulia Poli

Italian product designer Francesca Giulia Poli has a natural sense for narratives and design, which translates in spatial experiences and objects.

Francesca Giulia Poli

Francesca completed her studies in Product Design at Politecnico di Milano in 2020, where she did the Master Exchange Programme at Lund University in Sweden, further specialising in furniture, lighting design and exploring porcelain through her independent production. Currently she is working as product designer for the architecture, landscape and design company Snøhetta. In the past, she worked in a smaller studio in Stockholm, collaborating closely with Italian furniture manufacturers and private housing projects.

In her designs, Francesca builds distinctive narratives behind works with the aim of designing meaningful objects and experiences. Whether she is designing a furniture element, an installation or an interior, her attitude to design is strongly driven by materials, interaction and a sensibility for architecture and spatial elements.

«In my work, I build distinctive narratives with the aim of designing meaningful objects and experiences. Whether I’m designing a furniture element, an installation or an interior, my attitude to design is strongly driven by materials, interaction and a sensibility for architecture and spatial elements. Social and environmental sustainability form the basis for a conceptually driven process that creates responsible and explorative outputs. Exploring how materiality and conceptual narrative meet, allows my design to create strong relations between objects and people. Rather than using design to express myself, for me it is a tool to share, to connect and to create opportunities»
