Sander Kommedahl

Sander Kommedahl (1991) is an industrial designer based in Oslo, Norway.

Sander Kommedahl

Graduating in 2022 from Product Design at OsloMet, he has worked with furniture design, exhibition stands and products. His career started back in 2014 focusing solely on traditional handcrafted steel bicycles (Heim bicycles), with a cafe and workshop alongside. This set his path into what he would later describe as a need to further explore the meaning of design beyond two wheels.

While graduating he has already been working at Jenkins & Uhnger design studio, and been nominated for his lighting design by Lyskultur. Currently he is working in Goods, together with Heydays, elevating packaging experiences with a strong sustainable agenda.

His work, actively driven by material research, showcases a balance between the modern and traditional, creating a strong aesthetic identity, while letting the narrative from the process at large define the design outcome.

«Design to me is all about finding balance. A balance between the modern and traditional, craftsmanship and machined, giving logic function, yet keeping a strong aesthetic identity. My work is often inspired by nature, letting material research define larger parts of my process»
