Academy Partnership: Manufacturers + Newly Graduated Interior Architects

Utstilling visualisering 2

Through the Academy Partnership, Designers’ Saturday matches manufacturers with students and recent graduates to develop exhibition designs. The result is fresh perspectives, professional exchange, and stands that reflect both experience and new thinking.

At Ballerud, newly graduated interior architects Oda Hansen and Emilie Reid Kvernhaug from Kristiania University College have contributed actively to the process.

It has been great fun – very inspiring to work with newly graduated, talented interior architects, says Cornelia from Ballerud. Oda and Emilie have taken part in site visits, created drawings, and suggested furnishing solutions. The team is now working on modules that will elevate parts of the stand while remaining easy to transport.

The students describe the collaboration as both educational and rewarding:
The most valuable aspect has been participating actively in exhibition design and putting our studies into practice. The site visit at Myrens clearly showed us how important flexibility in planning is, they explain.

At Ballerud, visitors can look forward to high-end outdoor furniture from four producers, as well as solutions for solar shading.

Wall-it, which offers tactile products made from natural and recycled materials, has also benefited greatly from the collaboration. Together with student Kristin, they have developed a stand that will be presented at Lindbak during Designers’ Saturday. She has contributed with drawings, material, and color choices.

Kristin has proven to be efficient and skilled in both drawing and idea development. She has understood our needs, and the result is a stand that is more ambitious than we had initially envisioned, says the Wall-it team.

They promise an experience that appeals to all the senses:
We hope visitors will feel the same enthusiasm and joy that we have had throughout the development phase. Our natural materials awaken the senses and bring energy into the interior.

With the Academy Partnership, Designers’ Saturday aims to create meeting points between the industry and young designers – and this year’s collaborations show how new competence can bring both energy and quality to exhibition design.
